India | Summer Teams | Testimonies | Prayer | Christmas

Dear Friends of Charlie’s Lunch Ministries,

Greetings!
It is truly amazing to see the multiplication forces at work as the simple tool of feeding the hungry and weak ones continues to unfold. The Effects of giving a hot meal in the love of Christ through a local church has far-reaching and powerful results. The testimonies of lives changed, which were once hopeless, are heard on a daily basis at the Charlie’s Lunch feeding centers in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and India. Guatemala kids wavingIt wouldn’t have happened had YOU, our friends and supporters not sent the funding needed to expand, build and equip new kitchens and to support the current cost of food for each plate served in our current Charlie’s Lunch feeding centers. From the outset of this letter we give you our partners: “A CHARLIE’S LUNCH SALUTE!” Thank 7you for your contributions and for being a part of these testimonies now full of hope and opportunity for a future. In the following lines you will read of how YOU, our PARTNERS are making a difference. With your help and continues support we can do more and see multiplication forces turn darkness into God’s abundant light.

INDIA

India kidsIn India, the Charlie’s Home is growing and making a difference in the lives of these children. We were able to buy them shoes, school supplies and a water filter for drinking water. This is the rainy season in India and many have fallen sick because of contaminated water but the Charlie’s Lunch kids are enjoying clean water because of the new filter. In December, Sam and Steve will be traveling to India to visit and dedicate this Children’s Home and see 4 other areas of need where they are requesting help from Charlie’s Lunch. They will also be preaching the gospel in evangelistic crusades. Please keep them in your prayers Nov. 28 – Dec. 12.

SUMMER TEAMS

team membersBetween June and August Charlie’s Lunch hosted 3 missions teams evangelizing through medical outreaches, child evangelism and construction projects for the feeding centers. Team members came from churches in Colfax, California; El Paso, Texas; Victory World Prayer Center in Auburn, Alabama; and Wekiva Assembly in Lake Mary, Florida; as well as individuals from North Carolina and Oklahoma totaling 65 who served with great kindness and distinction.

clown with kidsWe prayed individually with 300 to receive Christ, while many others reconciled themselves back to a life following Christ. The 2 medical teams had a combined patient attendance of 2500 who received a free medical consultation, medicine and prayer! We ministered in a total of 11 churches in 3 countries. Team doctors recommended to Charlie’s Lunch 25 new malnourished kids that we’ll be adding to our program. This labor of love and serving with compassion, as Charlie’s Lunch Ministries endeavors to do, literally set the different communities and churches ablaze with a fire of God’s love. Our hats are off to all 65 evangelists and their servant efforts in clowning, doctoring, preaching, testifying, building and block-laying, cement-mixing and praying. We are still getting reports of growth in churches as a result of the beam of light turned on by the team efforts. WOW!

TESTIMONIES

baby Claudia today at 22 poundsIn the last 2 months, Charlie’s Lunch has had the privilege of helping 2 different malnourished babies by providing medical care and proper nutrition. This is in addition to the nearly 1000 children that we feed on a regular basis! Baby Claudia was brought to Pastor Luis Villatoro in Guatemala by her mother. She was listless, pale and dying from parasites and malnutrition. She needed hospitalization but there was no money. Charlie’s Lunch and the local church together were able to provide the funds to hospitalize her for 2 weeks. She weighed just 10 pounds at 18 months old. Today she is 20 pounds, smiling and enjoying Charlie’s Lunch with her big sister pictured left.

Little Javier was brought to our attention by Pastor Hector in Juarez, Mexico. Javier, just 3 months old, was dehydrated, hungry, pale and unresponsive because his mother was feeding him only rice water. She couldn’t breast-feed him and didn’t have the money to buy the “formula” that he needed. Charlie’s Lunch was able to provide the “formula” for this baby and his 3 brothers were added to the Charlie’s Lunch feeding program in Juarez, Mexico. Today, all are healthy and growing. Javier’s mother works the streets to earn money to care for her children. She has no husband. But, she has started coming to church on Sundays and her children are learning about the love of God through the program. Please pray for her.

PRAYER THE FOUNDATION

kids prayingAt Charlie’s Lunch Ministries we believe that prayer is the foundation for everything we do. All of our Charlie’s Lunch kids learn to talk to their heavenly father; for most their only father. Constant requests come for a Charlie’s Lunch feeding center. The decisions are sometimes difficult. Our desire is to help all those with a legitimate need but our resources are limited and we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit as to where to establish a new feeding center. Many of you are committed prayer partners of this ministry and we want to thank you for this. Please keep praying. We don’t want to do anything that is not covered in prayer. Prayer is the most important contribution that can be given to help this ministry expand and grow. For updated prayer requests, visit our Prayer Link at our website: www.charlieslunch.com

GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS!!!

Yes, it’s unbelievable but Christmas is just around the corner. For the last 5 years, Charlie’s Lunch has provided Christmas for thousands of children and their families. Last Christmas we gave out toys, blankets, shoes, candy and gifts to over 1200 children, 60 workers and 300 parents. This year we have nearly 2000 kids, 500 parents and 150 workers! To help raise these extra funds, we have designed a Charlie’s Lunch 2004 calendar. Each month features different Charlie’s Lunch kids in beautiful color pictures. We are asking a donation of $12 per calendar. All of the funds will go directly to our Christmas outreaches. Just write, call or email us and we’ll send out your order in plenty of time for Christmas. For more than 3, please include an extra $2.95 for postage. God bless you!
