POPULATION 1.15 billion (2nd largest population on earth after China)
LOCATION Asian Peninsula with the Arabian Sea to its west, the bay of Bengal to its east, and the Indian Ocean to the south. The Himalayan Mountains provide a natural separation from the rest of Asia and China.
AGRICULTURE Milk, cashew nuts, coconuts, tea, ginger, turmeric, black pepper, wheat, rice, sugar, groundnut, fish, tobacco, banana and sapota.
INDUSTRY Textile, food processing, chemical, cement, steal, software, mining, petroleum, cattle, and automobile production
CLIMATE Gogannamattam- This is a plain area with grass, paddy fields and shrimp tanks. The climate is hot and humid. One of the largest rivers in South India (Godavari) is flowing through this area. This is a fisherman village and the common trade is fishing. There are around 10,000 people living in this community.

Kadali- This is a plain area with coconut orchards and paddy fields. The climate is hot and humid with a population of approximately 20,000. Most of the people are daily wage agricultural laborers.

Shanti Sadan- The surroundings of this location is greenery with huge palm trees and paddy fields surrounded by the Godavari River. The population of this area is around 25,000 (30% Christian and 70% Hindu)

Visakhapatanam- Population of 2 million it is a steel city on the bay of Bengal Port

Wardha- This area is known for Mahatma Gandhi (Father of the Nation). It was an active political center during India’s freedom struggle as Mahatma Gahdhi lived in this area for 6 years. The population is around 220,000 with a majority of them being farmers and small businessmen. The steel industry is the main economic boost for this area.

Necnapur- Desert climate with a population of 20,000, some agriculture

Vijay Sagar- Hyderabad slum -population 100,000 -tent city. The people here work as rock crushers. Men make $1.00/day. Women make $0.50/day
