2006 Quarterly Newsletter

Dear Friends and Partners,

GREETINGS FROM CHARLIE’S LUNCH!

What an amazing year it has been for Charlie’s Lunch Ministries in 2005.  We have expanded to 25 feeding centers world-wide and are now feeding nearly 1,500 children on a regular basis.  That’s not including over 250 volunteers who work daily in this ministry or pastoral families who live in poverty and serve their community, church and God and share Charlie’s Lunch.

*That’s over 22,750 meals each month!

In Acts 20:35 it says, “…help the weak and remember the words of Jesus, ‘it is more blessed to give than to receive’.”  In Proverbs it says that you will be blessed when you give to the poor.  Since the beginning of this ministry we have sensed God’s favor and blessing as we help the weak and feed the hungry. Each of you who contribute to this ministry are part of that blessing!

Our vision for 2006 is simple; to continue to help the weak and feed the hungry with every available resource.

Thank you for joining hands and partnering with us as we reach out to more hungry kids and their families, provide medicine as needed, teach, train and show unconditional love, encourage and equip pastors with this tool, reconstruct & remodel churches and homes of pastors that work with us, give clothes, shoes, books, Bibles, toys, candy and a cup of clean water to those in need.

Let’s continue to share lunch….Charlie’s Lunch

Attention:

Through a generous donation, Charlie’s Lunch has recieved the funds to equip 6 more kitchens.

We just need the monthly funding to move forward.  On average, it costs $300 to feed 50 kids a month in Latin America.

In India, it costs just $220!  This would be a great mission’s outreach for any church, “home group,” or individual.  Please pray with us about this.

Charlie’s Lunch can make a difference in so many more lives.

Stories & Updates

Juarez, Mex.  They come from Central and South America to Juarez with hopes of crossing the border illegally to gain employment in the US.

When Luis Perez arrived from Honduras, he was homeless, jobless, hungry and desperate. He heard of a church where they have a Charlie’s Lunch Feeding center.

He came looking for food for his body, and received  food for his body and soul! Pastor Hector shared the gospel with him over a hot meal and Luis says,

that day, God changed my heart.” 3 months later, a changed man, he told Pastor Hector that he needed to go home to take care of his family and share his new-found faith. Pastor Hector put him on a bus. He plans to go to Bible School and wants to start a Charlie’s Lunch in Honduras someday.

It’s amazing what God can do with a hot meal given in Jesus name!
