What did your Christmas tree look like this year?

Ever wondered what Christmas is like in the houses of the poor? Imagine being a mother of 8 children and living in a shack. Feeling the responsibility to provide your 8 children with the best Christmas you possibly can. Unfortunately the harsh reality is that you can only barely put enough food on the table to feed them. Well this is exactly the story of one of the families that Charlie's Lunch is now helping.

The picture to the right was taken by Charlie's Lunch staff. Charlie's Lunch volunteers were going house to house surveying the children in the area when they came upon this "Christmas tree." After speaking with the mother of the children at this particular shack and evaluating the children's current health situation, Charlie's Lunch staff including the local Pastor were able to invite 5 of her children, the youngest of the 8, to be a part of the new feeding center. They will now recieve nourishment both physically and spiritually as they are taught the living Word of God. "Merry Christmas" has come to this family through Charlie's Lunch!

James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:

to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
