A Babies Portion of Charlie's Lunch Saves a Life!

In July, a medical team from Victory World Prayer Center (Auburn, AL) held a free medical clinic in the village of Chuikavioc, Guatemala where Charlie's Lunch has been feeding Mayan Indian children since May 2001.

As usual, hundreds of people lined up for their chance to see a doctor and receive free medicine; their only means of getting medical help! Baby "Christian", who weighed in at just 4 lbs. at 3 months old, was brought in to see the doctor by his 15 year old mother.

As the doctor began to examine, the facts became clear. Christian was starving to death! His 15 year old mother was not able to breast-feed and in turn was watering-down what little "baby formula" she had to feed the child. Nurse Glenda, a specialist in pediatrics, quickly put an IV in baby Christian and began to feed him. Sam immediately ran to the nearest store to buy baby formula and provide this malnourished child his appropriate "Charlie's Lunch".

As their hearts were stirred at the sight of this starving infant and his poverty stricken mother, the doctors and nurses from Victory World Prayer Center made arrangements to fund the feeding of baby Christian for one year.

Now 4 months later, baby Christian has already gained weight and is maturing in health as he is receiving a babies portion of Charlie's Lunch daily. We thank God for the generosity of these doctors and nurses.
